Accessories for the iPhone 4

With the newly released iPhone 4, there are truck fulls of accessories barreling not far behind. Alone, the device can do some pretty amazing things, especially with the almost unlimited amount of apps at your fingertips. Something so technical and tiny has so much power, but like every good consumer you need to protect your investment. Companies have mass produced literally dozens of contraptions to help you with that ever soft, peace of mind.

Cases, Cases, Cases! There’s one for the jogger, there’s one for the high fashionista, there’s one for the rock N’ roll wannabee, there’s…well you get the idea. Cases come in hundreds of shapes, sizes, and colors from designers and clothing brands and other companies. There’s silicone, plastic, durable leather. You name it, it’s out there.

Screen protectors are a must! The iPhone may look like a tough cookie, but the highly sensitive touch screen will shatter with the best of them.

You may have seen these screen protectors back in the day when PDA’s and such launched, but they’re back and even more heavy duty. Held in place with a glue-like residue that evaporates after drying, it protects against dropping, smashing, crushing, and crunching!

Want it to be stationary? Want to listen to music when you’re showering or are too afraid to venture onto the pool with your songs synced on your iPhone? Docks allow you to stash it on the docking station and crank out your tunes, blaring that Mariah Carey, or Adam Lambert throughout the halls of your home. They range in quality and brand. The more expensive the higher the sound output and speaker quality.

Essential chargers to have with you

When you have portable devices that you need to use as you travel, they should be powered. Chargers are key components of a portable device and they vary according to your needs. If you travel quite often and take your gadgets along with you, then you need these travel chargers in your bag. Car chargers are convenient on the go travel chargers. These can be connected to the lighter port of your car and plugged into the device you want to charge. Car chargers work with laptops, mobile phones and many other devices, depending on the capacity of the charger. This means you no longer have to worry about a low phone battery or laptop power as you travel. Simply plug them into the car and you can charge safely.

Travel chargers are also important when you want to take your devices abroad.

Most of us worry about how our laptops and mobile phones can be powered overseas and travel chargers are the perfect answer. These are lightweight and portable, which means you do not have to worry about carrying items that make your luggage heavier. The compact designs of the chargers fit into small spaces and make them easy to carry. The tips of the adapters, sometimes interchangeable, fit into all types of power outlets. You can use them even with on-board plane power systems. Universal laptop chargers are a type of travel charger that can charge several USB powered devices. These also can access power in the car or on the airplane. This kind of travel charger can charge multiple devices, so you only need one charger for all your digital gadgets.

Travel chargers make sure that whichever mains you plug them into, in any part of the world, will regulate the voltage and provide the right one that is compatible with your device. Some universal laptop chargers can give you an extra few hours of power and enable charging MP3 players, digital cameras, camcorders, iPods and other devices. With universal laptop chargers you do not have to carry other chargers. The indicator on the charger gives you information on the voltage and battery life. Portable devices certainly need portable power adapters, which are adaptable and convenient. With a travel charger you can sort out all your charging requirements, in the car, on the plane or overseas.

Tips in Shopping for iPhone Covers and Cases

iPhone covers and cases are probably one of the most popular and common iPhone accessories out in the stores today. Although its easy availability is a good thing, the wide array of choices can make it extremely hard for iPhone owners to choose what kind of accessory to get. So if you need a hand, read on and learn about the different kinds of covers and cases that are available in the market today.

Leather Cases

Leather gives iPhone cases a very sleek and professional look to it. Leather is considered to be a very tough and durable material which makes it one of the best kinds of protective accessories that you can use. There are also different colors and textures made especially for different iPhone models so you won’t have a hard time looking for that perfect piece.

Silicone Cases

Silicone is a soft, flexible, water-proof material and is one of the most popular choices for iPhones covers and cases.

They are very light and barely add on to the total weight of your iPhone gadgets. The material also provides a good, no-slip grip to help you avoid slips and accidents. They come in a wide variety of colors and designs which has made them a favorite among the younger generations. Apart from that, some models also come with a clear plastic screen protector that can shield your screen from scratches and dirt as well. These kinds of iPhone cases work well with iPods, too.

Plastic Cases

Plastic iPhone covers and cases are usually made out of polished polycarbonate. Although they are not as flexible as the silicone cases, plastic can also give you ample protection from scratches and liquids. They are also available in a wide variety of designs and colors, made especially for different iPhone models. However, the downside to this is that some plastic cases that may be slippery and difficult to hold. So if you want to get a plastic case, always find one that can provide you with a stable and non-slip grip.

Aluminum Cases

Aluminum cases are one of the few hard case iPhone covers available in the market today. But in spite of its solid structure, the material is very lightweight and will not add on a significant amount of weight to your gadget. They can protect your phones from practically any kind of damage – from liquids scratches, dents and many more. These features have made aluminum one of the best choices for an iPhone protective accessory. Aluminum cases not only come in a stylish silver finish but in a wide assortment of colors as well.

Aside from the material, a very important factor that you need to consider when buying iPhone cases and covers is the size. Always bring along your gadget with you as you shop so you can test it on to get the perfect fit. There are also designs that come with added compartments and pockets where you can slip in an added battery or memory card. So keep those gadgets well protected without sacrificing on space and style by using these iPhone covers and cases today.

On Battery Chargers For Your Digital Cameras

The year 2011 will surely be remembered by photographers as that which finally saw the long-overdue arrival of the large-sensor compact system camera. Indeed ever since compact digicams were first introduced, the obvious next step seemed to be to develop the basic concept with larger sensors and interchangeable Battery Chargers; so much so that the only real question has been, what’s taken so long? But now that Olympus and Panasonic have blazed the trail with the likes of the E-P1 and GF1, and Samsung has shown its hand in the shape of the NX10, it seems only a matter of time before all of the major manufacturers jump on board and produce their own competitors in this potentially lucrative new market segment. But while we’ve certainly been pleased to see these new cameras, we’ve been less impressed by the lack of imagination shown by the initial Charger ranges.

So in a (probably futile) attempt to steer the manufacturers in what we think is the right direction, here are our suggestions for what they should be making.

To understand our line of thought, let’s just take a step back and think about who’s likely to be buying these compact beauties. The Olympus Camera Chargers manufacturers seem convinced that their market consists primarily of people who currently use compact digicams, and might be tempted to upgrade to an DSLR but are put off by the size and complexity. They therefore seem to be designing their initial Charger selections along such lines, with a profusion of uninspiring slow zooms. However, we think this at best half the story. Interchangeable Charger Compacts (we’ll call them ILCs from now on) are also hugely interesting to serious photographers looking to complement their bulky DSLR systems with smaller, more portable alternatives that still provide excellent image quality – users who will want Battery Chargers that offer more creative options.

We now need to define the purpose that our Charger set is to be designed for.

The standard set of zooms – wide, normal, and telephoto – allow general purpose photography in good light, but we’re aiming for something a bit different. Because the vast majority of photographs are taken of people, and we spend much of our time interacting with our friends and family indoors. So let’s have Battery Chargers which will allow us to capture these memories – from wideangle group shots, to across-the-table portraits – easily and discreetly, and crucially using the subtlety and quality of natural light.

One of the most important concepts in marketing a new product is that of the Unique Selling Point (USP), which in a nutshell is the key advantage that you can offer a potential buyer over the competition. And the most important USP of ILCs is that they offer DSLR-level image quality, especially at high ISOs, in a significantly smaller package that’s much more easily carried. Lose either half of the equation and there’s little reason to carry one over either a small-sensor compact or a DSLR. To complement the camera, the Samsung Camera Chargers therefore have to be small – ideally little more than an inch and a half in length.

Apple iPhone 4 Review

At WWDC2010 the long-waited Apple iPhone 4 (16GB and 32GB version), the 4th generation of iPhone, was released this June, together with iPhone 3GS (8GB version), after the success of iPhone and iPhone 3G. Please see Apple iPhone 4 review for more details.

1.  Apple iPhone 4—Appearance

(1) IPhone 4—Keys Layout
IPhone 4 has some changes in layout of SIM card slot, volume keys and dual-microphone. Dual-microphone with noise-suppression function is another improvement in appearance, which greatly improves the speech quality. And the secondary microphone can be used as a receiver for improving sound quality in FaceTime.

a. Left: Previous single volume key is divided into 2 individual keys, together with one mute key are on the left body
b.

Right: The SIM card slot is moved to the right side of iPhone.
c. Top: A 3.5mm stereo headphone mini-jack, a mini microphone and a sleep-wake key are present in order on the top.
d. Bottom: There is a speaker-like microphone, a 30-pin dock connector, and a built-in speaker on the bottom.

(2) IPhone 4—Retina Display
The greatest improvement of apple iPhone 4 is the 3.5″ wide screen with latest Retina display offering an ultra-clear 960x 640 screen resolution and 800:1 contrast ratio. The latest Retina display with 326 pixels per inch quadruples the panel density for wide viewing angle and superb color, so whites are brighter, blacks are darker, and the image in web page, games and movies will be more brilliant. Besides, Retina display is power-saving. The built-in ambient light sensor and LED backlighting will adjust automatically the brightness of the screen to save power.

(3) IPhone 4—Durable Tempered Glass & Seamless Surface
The apple iPhone 4 gives us an elegant and sturdier feeling compared to its predecessor, owing to seamless surface without a gap to collect dirt & dust and smooth piano finish in the front and rear of iPhone 4. The sturdier felling comes from the scratch-resistant and durable tempered glass often used in helicopter or high-speed trains.

(4) IPhone 4—Antenna
The other studier felling of Apple iPhone 4 derive from the stainless steel band surrounding the side. To our surprise, actually the antennas is integrated with the stainless steel band, the left border for Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPS, the right side for UMTS and GSM, instead of being hidden inside the body.

(5) Ultra-thin Body
This distinguished room-saving design of Antenna makes iPhone 4 an ultra-thin phone. With the thickness of 9.3mm, iPhone 4 looks like an elegant matchbox, which is 24% thinner than iPhone 3GS (12.3mm).

2. Apple IPhone 4—Features

(1) IPhone 4—Hardware
a. Processor & Memory
Apple iPhone 4 sports 1GHz Apple A4 processor, which is power-saving, and larger built-in memory (up to 512MB) than iPhone 3GS and iPad. The upgrade of hardware ensures the better performance.
b. Battery Capacity
The upgrade of iPhone 4 hardware brings better battery capacity, which allows up to 300h standby time, 7 h (3G)/ 14 h (2G) talk time, 6 h (3G)/ 10 h (Wi-Fi) , Up to 10 h Video playback, 40 h Audio playback.

(2) IPhone 4—Three-axis Gyro
The new three-axis gyro and accelerometer of Apple iPhone 4 provide 6-axis motion sensing, making operating experience close to reality. The new three-axis gyro can be widely used in many ways, such as testing slope and displacement distance.

(3) IPhone 4—5MP Camera + LED flash+ Front VGA Camera
Besides the 5MP rear-camera supporting 720P HD video recording (1280×720), iPhone 4 brings in front-facing camera for video chatting in FaceTime and LED flash for better capturing effect.

(4) IPhone 4—Support Micro SIM Card Only
For saving room for battery, iPhone 4 only support specialized Micro SIM instead of standard SIM card, which will be inconvenient for most users.

(5) IPhone 4—FaceTime Video Calling
You can enjoy a high quality FaceTime video calling by clicking the FaceTime icon with Wi-Fi connectivity on condition that the calling and called party are iPhone 4 users.

By the way, the limitation of WiFi connectivity in FaceTime video calling is temporary, and we estimated iPhone 4 users can use FaceTime function via 3G in 2011.

Furthermore, Apple Company hoped that FaceTime technology, allowing multiple open standards, such as H.264, AAC, SIP, STUN, TURN, ICE, RTP, SRTP, would be industry standards in the future.

(6) IPhone 4—Connectivity
IPhone 4 offers 3.5mm headset jack, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, GPS navigation, digital compass and Bluetooth 2.1+EDR. Besides, iPhone 4 supports UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA (3G) and GSM/EDGE (2G) network
